About the Trainer

Laura Horgus was raised in Deer Park, Wash. and moved to Montana after meeting her husband while attending college.  In 2009, she earned a B.A. in Communication at the University of Montana.  Laura currently works full-time for PayneWest Insurance and lives in Sweet Grass, Mont. on the family farm.

Laura has worked with horses almost her entire life and adopted her first mustang at age 18 from the South Steens herd in southern Oregon.  Although her showing experience was non-existent, she began learning and competing in various cow sports including cutting and team penning after college with her AQHA mare, Stella.

The 2016 Idaho EMM will be the first training competition of any kind in which Laura has participated.
